Its 7 a.m. on Saturday morning. Don and I are still tucked snug in our bed when Sydnie Grace bursts through our bedroom door exclaiming, "Mom, there is snow outside--we gotta get in the snow!" Due to our exhausted and half-proclaimed attempts at enthusiasm, she decided to take matters into her own hands. She disappeared into her room and emerged in her "snow outfit" which consisted of cowboy boots, mismatched and twisted shirt and pants with her pink, striped mittens. Again, she insisted, "We gotta get in the snow!" After my worthless attempts to redirect her efforts, I gave in, switched the cowboy boots out for her buggy boots (thanks, Terra & girls) and off we went.

To remember the silent magic that transforms the earth when the snow falls, the smell of that cold air, and the thrill of seeing your breath form a cloud in front of your face.
