Dear Sydnie,
I cannot believe that today marks 1,424 days since my life changed forever, and you, my sweet angel, were born. You made me a mother and have spent every moment of those 1,000+
days reminding me of how blessed a life can be. This has been such an exciting year for you! You started Joy School, and loved every minute spent learning and playing with your friends. You are fantastic at recognizing and learning about the alphabet letters and your numbers. You have also learned
so much about your own little identity as you've interacted more and more with the kids around you. It's pretty safe to say you know who you are...and you know how to use it to your advantage ;)
Kade has finally gotten big enough that he can be your "little buddy," and you play together so well. You call him your "sweet buddy," and you two never go to bed at night without big hugs and kisses. Your favorite game is when he chases you around the house or plays, "follow the leader," with you being the leader--of course. The two of you communicate in a language that I don't understand--but I love how mu
ch you love your little brother, and he definitely adores you!
It has been so fun for me to be able to sit and have actual "big girl" conversations with you as we d
iscuss the many 'hows' and 'whys' in the world around us. You want to know everything about everything and I love watching your little mind work! You continue to be fascinated with any kind of living, crawling thing and decided after you visited the vet during a Joy School field trip that it was your future calling in life.
You amaze me as you take the time to notice the little things around you like "roly poly pill bugs" and the ants and the bees. Your eyes never cease to be filled with wonder! I really think it is because of you that I actually stop to enjoy a breeze once in a while or notice a butterfly as it passes us. You are a wonderful helper and love to help plant flowers, weed, make any kind of food and even fold laundry with Mom! Most of the time, you answer any request with a simple, "of course!" and you're on your way.
I can
't keep you still for longer than two minutes at a time, but it actually inspires me and keeps me on my toes. We are part of this journey together, and you make an amazing traveling companion little sis! When you finally decide to be still for a few moments and curl up in my lap, I can't tell you how incredibly lucky I feel that you chose me to be your mom....The silence whispers to my heart, and if I had my choice I'd keep you there close to me forever. Your beauty takes my breath away... and your smile is magic. I love, love, love you, baby girl! You continue to be a gift and your daddy and I are so proud of the wonderful little girl you are so quickly becoming! Happy Birthday to you, our Beautiful Syd!
