In celebration of summer's last weekend, we hit the local farmer's stand just one more time. The fresh corn, melons and peaches have spoiled us this summer! There is nothing like super fresh produce--such a glorious thing! Throughout the summer, Sydnie has decided that she is the official
"corn-shucker" of the family. She begs me to stop and buy corn so she can sit outside and
"suck" the corn. She is very careful to sit and pull each leaf off of the ear, and has made it very clear that the
"corn hair" is definitely
NOT her favorite thing! Saturday night we had a great little chat while we sat in the cooling air...
sh

ucking away
(who came up with that word, anyway?) on the last ears of corn of the season.
Ahh...Good times. At least I've still got my garden veggies to tide me over for a few more weeks!
So, as I sadly watched the little produce stands disappear over the weekend, I had to say my last farewell to summer...and happy hello to my "Fall Splendor." Oh summer, we will miss your sweet fruits, the splashes, the sun...but welcome FALL! We're all ready for you!

Sydnie needs to come to my house -- I hate corn shucking. And I agree with her, the hair is yucky! :) What a cutie! I'll miss the fruit/vegetable stands, too.
I love the farmers market. Today was the most beautiful fall day. A chill in the air with warm sunshine.
so fun to see what you have been up to! I love the pics of the kids at church. They look soo grown up. It is so fun to be in the Dance class stage.
So cute! Bring on the fall...hopefully it will last longer than two weeks before the snow starts! :)
Thanks for sharing with us by the way, we loved it. It was fun to watch lance and Claire eat it right off the cob.
Hey we are coming out Nov 21st-28th. We would love to get together for dinner or find some time to come see your kiddos.
