Let the twirling begin!

Syd started her first dance class today! Thank heavens...the anticipation has been killing us all! After her enrollment, I mentioned to her that she was going to start dance class. Ever since, ANYTIME we are preparing to leave the house, she asks if we are "going to twirling class, yet?" That is in addition to the five or six times during the day that she randomly asks if "it's time to go to twirling class, yet?" Poor girl. The concept of waiting must be awful for a four year old. Nevertheless, we made it through, the wait is over and she delightedly twirled her heart out this morning. It is equally as exciting because she gets to take class with her cousin, Madi.

I am curious to see how she does...being that I am coordination-deprived and all. However, my sister Candice is a remarkably gifted dancer, so maybe the genes got woven in there somewhere.

Secretly, I think every little (and older) girl wants to be a dancer in some way. I know I've mentioned before to Candice how much I envied her ability to release and find a freedom as she expressed herself so incredibly through dance. As for Sydnie, I hope the "twirling" brings the same release and freedom...and a chance to just be a little girl--right down to the pink tights of it all! I can't wait to watch her love every second of it!
Gifted or not, we all need those moments to "dance, as if no one is watching."
Let the twirling begin!....

So cute! Love the pictures you took. Syd - I bet you are the best "twirler" in your class! Have fun! I believe dance classes, ballet choes, tutu's, etc. are some of the best parts of being a girl.

She is so cute and has so much going on in her little life. Soon she will be as busy as her mother. I think the world of you for letting her experience all of these things.

Yay for baby girl ballerinas! Wish our girlies could twirl together!
