Yeah! Snow!!!

We have had tons of snow the last couple of weeks! My kids have been dying to get out in the middle of all the freezing fluffiness. Being the great Mom that I am, I have yet to get out there with them and build that snowman they've been begging for, so today, they got their revenge. Amidst an insanely crazy day of urgent phone calls, errand running and holiday's last minute frenzy, they decided to take advantage of one small moment of Mommy talking on the phone....and they created their own snow indoors. Ugh! I walked into the room and gasped....deeply....as both of them are jumping up and down yelling, "yeah! Snow!!!" and throwing the foam pieces everywhere! (I promise, it was much worse than the pictures depict). Do you laugh and join in, or do you just give up? ;)

Has anyone ever attempted to clean up tiny pieces of smashed foam peanuts off of carpet? Not an easy task! We started by sweeping, with a broom, the big pieces off the carpet. Then crawling on hands and knees to retrieve all of the pieces that were tossed under couches and chairs. Then chasing the dog through the house to clean her off...as her fur was covered in little pieces of foam that she was tracking through my whole house! I then had to unclog the vacuum that quickly found itself also overwhelmed by the foam disaster. A little more sweeping, two more runs with the vacuum, and finally we conquered the storm. Exhausting!

That being said, after two days of clean up after my children's precious little snowstorm, it is probably high time we get OUTSIDE and play in some snow!!!

What would the holidays be without some sort of disaster? :)

HILARIOUS!!! Way to go Syd and Kade. What else are kids for than to keep you on your toes and to teach you the fine art of the restraint of swearing. :) Love you.

I am glad that you got pictures. As frustrating as it was (and it isn't easy to clean up peanuts) some day you will look make on that day with a smile.
