...but what is my new number?

Today they celebrated Syd's half-birthday at school. These summer babies of mine....they're never going to have it easy in the celebration + school department. Sydnie was of course thrilled to be having anyone celebrate her at any time. We made treat bags, and I got to come to her class while the kids all sang "Happy Birthday" and gave her hugs. Very sweet....but very confusing! She kept asking me why we weren't inviting all of her new friends to her party, what her cake was going to be, and what her new number was? It took me a few minutes to figure that one out. Unfortunately trying to explain that she was 4 1/2 wasn't a very satisfying answer. She wanted a new number! My little girl is already trying to grow up too fast on me! ;) Honestly, I'm happy and quite relieved to keep her at the "1/2" for a little while longer. Five will come too soon! Happy half-birthday, Syd!

Dillan alwasy asks me the same thing. It took me quite a while to figure that one out too. Cute pictures. The sunset picture is so pretty! Don't you love when you get to see such beautiful acts of nature? Thanks for sharing!

someday she will look back and wonder why she ever wanted "a new number" as far as the cake goes I am with her. We should get a cake on our half birthday. A big yummy Chocolate one, real moist, and with lots of frosting.

That would be confusing to a 4 year old! I can't believe she'll be 5 this summer and in kindergarten in the Fall! They grow up way too fast.
