Monday night we all gathered to assemble gingerbread houses at Grandma's house with the cousins! The kids were sooo excited. As we pulled out all of the bowls of candy and started spreading them across the table, their eyes widened in amazement. I don't think Syd has ever seen that much candy spread out in one place...all at her disposal (I suppose with the exception to Halloween). We got the walls assembled, and Sydnie carefully helped place the wafers on the roof...and then, she was done. It was amazing, yet predictable, how one by one each child found that the movie going on in the basement with Uncle Don was much more exciting than the houses
we were constructing out of pure candy in the kitchen.So, after a couple of hours, and lots of sugary fun, here are the final results of t
he gingerbread houses. Didn't the kids (Moms) do such a great job? ;) My kids have loved and admired this thing every day since we brought it home. To my amazement, not a single piece of candy is missing....just most of the icicles off of the roof ;)

It is 5:30 in the morning and I and Lance are awake, reading your blog and now I have to decorate gingerbread house today. We will see if we follow through with that.
